For the creation of two museum kits and the publication of a booklet.
The museum kits will include materials and brochures, aiming to create a variety of activities that will enable children to understand, identify, and accept both unpleasant and pleasant emotions. The booklet, which will be distributed free of charge to all museum visitors, will include a description of the museum and its philosophy, with regards to the emotional development of children, information on the exhibition, a list of activities available at the museum and a game in printed form.
The Emotions Museum of Childhood, a member of the Association of Children’s Museum HOE (Hands on Europe), has been in operation since 2006 and is the only one of its kind in Greece. What makes it different from other children’s museums is that it deals exclusively with the children’s emotional world. More specifically, through the use of exhibitions, play and fairy tales, the museum encourages children to discover their emotional world, and to learn more about themselves and others. The Museum also raises the awareness of adults, parents and teachers on issues related to the emotional development and socialization of children. Apart from its permanent interactive exhibition, which receives visits by school groups during the week, the museum also runs workshops addressed to parents and their children. These workshops encourage self-awareness and communication between children and adults through play.
